President Duterte is not backing down from his scathing attack against Senator Leila de Lima despite criticisms of his alleged abuse of power.

In a visit to a military camp in Maguindanao on Thursday, the President believed that he did not go overboard in his tirade against De Lima, adding he has evidence and witnesses to prove the charges against her.

The President also claimed it was De Lima’s fault for the mess she is in, saying government officials must be accountable for their actions.

“She created this scandal. She knows that she is a public official. Iskandalo siya diyan sa human rights, iskandalo siya diyan sa Justice department,” Duterte said in a media interview before addressing the troops in Camp Siongco.

“Anong spare the family? Pag nasa public office ka De Lima, your life is an open book,” he added.
